William "Bill" Swanson

William R. "Bill" Swanson, 86,  passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND.

Bill was born on February 20, 1939, to William and Vera (Close) Swanson. He grew up in the Mountain area and graduated from Milton High School. On June 24, 1961, he married the love of his life, Carol Bartlette at Grafton, ND. He held several jobs over the years including Pillsbury in Grand Forks, MCI in Pembina and helping out farmers who needed a hand.

Bill enjoyed antique cars and tractors, especially driving them in the August the Deuce parade. He also enjoyed looking through car sale books, listening to polka music and playing Bingo at Wedgewood Manor. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving Bill are his children: Carl (Karen) Swanson, Carolyn (Dale) Gillett, and John (Ashley) Swanson; grandchildren: Erick, Keith, Kelsey (Andrew) and their daughter, Hannah; Amanda and her children: Lily, Dustin, Aaliyah, Jackson, and Nova; Rose and her children: Abdon, Ali, and Lexi; Paul (Arwin); Bethany (Brett) and daughter, Clara; Sarah (Zac) and son Caleb; Dane; Hailey and her children Josi and Stetson; Hannah, and Christian.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Carol.
