Tracey Olason

Tracey Olason, 66, formerly of Hensel, ND, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at First Care Health Center in Park River, ND. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Tracey Olason at the age of 66 years old. Tracey was receiving care at First Care in Park River and was surrounded by Friendship staff at the time of her passing.

Tracey was born on November 30, 1959, in Grafton, North Dakota to John and Lois (Markel) Olason. She attended school at the Developmental Center until 1979 and later completed her education within the Cavalier school system.

In 2003 Tracey began attending Friendship Day Supports and held various positions over the years, including working at All Seasons Laundry. In 2006, she began working at Heartland Eye Care, where she was loved and adored by her co-workers. Tracey proudly retired from Heartland Eye Care in 2025 after 19 years of dedicated service. She also owned and operated her business "Tracey's Gourmet Dog Biscuits" since 2022 where she was well known in the community for having the best dog treats around.

Tracey lived in her family home until 2013, when she moved to Friendship. She spent the next 13 years with her Friendship family in an apartment until she most recently moved to her home in Park River which she lovingly called her "mansion."

Tracey enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, wearing jewelry/getting her nails painted, watching Wheel of Fortune, puzzles, and talking with her sister nightly. She was a true social butterfly who loved going for coffee, attending community events, and visiting with others. Tracey will be remembered for her infectious smile, friendly personality, and great sense of humor.

Tracey is survived by her sister, Jody Myers of Moorhead, MN, nephew, Brian (Tabatha) Myers of Moorhead, MN, great-niece, Brinley and great-nephew, Preston.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
