Stacy H. Meece

Stacy H. Meece age 92 of Cavalier and formerly of Walhalla, ND, died on Monday, March 20, 2006, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 24, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
Stacy Harlan Meece was born December 13, 1913, in Rantoul, IL to William Welby and Mary Alta (Thomas) Meece. He graduated from Cavalier High School where he was an outstanding athlete in wrestling and track. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and later discharged due to a medical condition. Stacy farmed in Beaulieu Township near Walhalla with his brother, Robert, until his retirement. He was a member of the Bartlette-Resler Post #62, Walhalla American Legion.
On November 29, 1941, he married Agnes Margaret Dunnigan at Walhalla. She passed away on December 2, 1966. He then married Lucille Lorenzen on January 6, 1981, at Cavalier, ND.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; children, Randy (Cindy) Meece, Cavalier, ND; Mary Lee Meece and Valerie Meece, both of Nashville, TN; grandson, Timothy Charles Meece, Fargo, ND; step-children, Tom (Margaret) Lorenzen, Gurnee, IL; Richard Lorenzen, Kennewick, WA; Patty (Gary) Dearinger, Walhalla, ND; Carol Lorenzen, Kennewick, WA; nine step- grandchildren; and 20 step- great grandchildren; brother, Robert Meece, Walhalla, ND.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, John; grand daughter, Rebecca Lynn; and step-daughter, Cathy Lorenzen Johnson.
