Shawn L. "Digger" Degenstein age 26 of Cavalier, ND died on Thursday, September 1, 2005, at the Unity Medical Center, Grafton, ND. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Shawn Leo Degenstein was born February 5, 1979, at Hawthorne, Nevada to Larry and Anita (McGauvren) Degenstein. He grew up in Pembina and Cavalier where he attended school. Shawn has been employed as an over the road truck driver.
He is survived by his mother, Anita Degenstein, Cavalier, ND; father, Larry Degenstein, Dalton, MN; sister, Shannon Degenstein, Stephen, MN; sons, Tristan and Daeden, stepsisters, Ashley Chartier, Battle Lake, MN and Tracy Chartier, Fergus Falls, MN.
