Ruth Ann Danielson

Ruth Ann Danielson, 72, of Walhalla, ND passed away on November 30, 2017, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Walhalla Lutheran Church in Walhalla. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Ruth was born on December 30, 1944 in Langdon, ND to Willard and Irene Knutson. She was reared and educated near Vang, ND. On January 24, 1961 Ruth was united in marriage to Jerry Danielson.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who was at her happiest when spending time with family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She was also a kind and gentle person toward everyone she met.

Ruth worked at the Walhalla State Bank (Choice Financial) for many years and after retirement, she volunteered at the Pembilier Nursing Center. Ruth was a member of the Walhalla Lutheran Church and Walhalla Brush Bunch.

Ruth was an excellent seamstress, cook, and baker who made some of the best lefsa and other traditional Scandinavian foods. She was an artist and took great pleasure in creating art pieces through the media of oil paints.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Jerry and children, Cecilia (Doug) Mohr of Devils Lake, ND, Todd (Cindy) Danielson of Walhalla, ND; grandchildren Patrick (Monica) Mohr of Enid, OK, Christopher Danielson of Grand Forks, ND, Katie Danielson of Grand Forks, ND; brother John (Caroline) Knutson of Walhalla, ND, sister Bernice Heck of Tolna, ND, sister-in-law June Miron (Gary Brown) of Grand Forks, ND, brother-in-law James (Sherry) Danielson of Billings, MT, sister-in-law Janet Bennett of Devils Lake, ND, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

She is preceded in death by parents, Willard and Irene Knutson, father and mother-in-law, Chris and Della Danielson, brother-in-law Gordon Heck, sister-in-law Judy Peterson, and niece Penny Jo Miron.
