Roberta Mae Larson, the daughter of John and Mary (Schnell) Rickbeil, was born on May 21, 1920 at Bathgate, ND. She attended country school near her childhood home, and then moved to Grand Forks to live with her Aunt Ruth. It was during this time in Grand Forks when Roberta attended beauty school.
She was united in marriage to Myron Loren Larson on September 25, 1943 and to this union were born nine children. The couple lived in Bathgate and then in Neche where they raised their family. In 1983 Roberta moved to Grand Forks to live and eventually made her home at Tufte Manor until moving to Marion, IA in 2004 where she was residing at the time of her passing.
Roberta enjoyed her favorite pastimes of crocheting and walking. She loved her time with her children and grandchildren, and spent many hours with her gardening.
Left to cherish her memory are her son: Rodney Larson of Marion, IA; her daughters: Connie Plaia of Grand Forks, ND, Carol Thompson of Cavalier, ND, Bonnie (Tim) Hayes of Spruce Pine, NC, Linda (Daryl) Scott of Menomonie, WI, Cherry Dodson of Missoula, MT, JoAnn Guenther of Grand Forks, ND, and Sharon (LuVerne) Paton on Hampstead, NH; her sister: Ann Ruby of International Falls, MN; other relatives and friends.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron; her daughter, Cindy; two sisters: Edna Sharp and Marion Einerson; and two brothers: Sylvester Rickbeil and Oswald Rickbeil.
