Robert L. Olson

Robert L. Olson, age 84, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away on June 23, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1941, in Cavalier, North Dakota.

Robert spent his early years in Cavalier before moving to Jamestown in 1973, where he made his home and built a life surrounded by family and friends.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Robert was known for his love of family, his strong work ethic, and his caring heart. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication and kindness.

On December 29, 1961, Robert married the love of his life, Irene Elizabeth Olson. Together they shared more than 64 years of marriage and created a family that was the center of their lives.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Elizabeth Olson, age 85; his three sons, Darren Lee Olson, Brent Lane Olson and his wife Denise, and Troy Lynn Olson and his wife, Joanne.

He is also survived by his brother, Bill Olson and his wife Penny, of Grand Forks, ND; his sister, Judy Kemnitz and her husband Gary, of Cavalier, ND.

Robert was blessed with a large and loving family and is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Robert’s life was a testament to the importance of family, commitment and love. His memory will live on through the generations that follow and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
