Ray N. Duerr

Ray N. Duerr, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Maple Manor Care Center, Langdon, ND.

Raymond Norbert Duerr was born April 25, 1942, to Alfred and Dorothy (Buntjer) Duerr. He attended school in Nekoma and worked on the Buntjer Farm near Munich, ND. Ray was employed by the City of Langdon Water Department for many years. He also ran a small engine repair shop in Nekoma for decades. If your lawn mower or grain auger motor wouldn’t start, Ray was the one to go to! He also anchored the Nekoma Fast Pitch softball team at first base.

Ray resided at the Osnabrock Community Living Center for several years. Moving to Maple Manor in 2024.

He is survived by a brother, James of Nekoma, ND; sisters-in-law: Veronica Duerr and Phyllis Schwan; nephews: David, Tom, Rick, Glen Jr. and Jeff; nieces: Deanna Schwanke and Tia Duerr.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Alfred Jr., Glen, Lloyd, Richard and Robert; sisters-in-law: Sandra and Joyce; nephew, Robert Jr. and niece, Debra Nelson. Also, his favorite pup, Bitsy.

Service and burial in the Nekoma Lutheran Cemetery will be at a later date.
