Ray D. Brown

  Ray D. Brown, 64, of Cavalier, ND passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural St. Thomas, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.

     Ray D. Brown was born January 28, 1955 at Altona, Manitoba to Alex and Marlys (Morrison) Brown. He grew up near Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School. He worked for the North Dakota State Highway Department and for various farmers in the area. At the time of his passing he worked for Bernhoft Farms. Ray enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, his puppy, Shadow, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

     On June 16, 1973, he married Sue Hartje at Cavalier, ND. He is survived by his wife, Sue; children: David (Nicole) Brown, Dilworth, MN, Bobby (Amanda) Brown and Barbie (Scott) Hoffarth, all of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Shaun and Brady Brown; Harmon, Bently, and Kinly Brown; Espen and Gianna Westby. He is also survived by his mother, Marlys Brown, Cavalier, ND; siblings: Don (Sheri) Brown, Pembina, ND, Lee Brown (Lyndis), Fargo, ND, Kim (Paul) Schwartz, Bathgate, ND.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Alex.
