Randy L. Ostlie

Randy L. Ostlie 52 of Cavalier, ND died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Graveside service at the Northwood City Cemetery, Northwood, ND on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Randy Lee Ostlie was born December 8, 1953, at North wood, ND to Palmer and Jane (Tupa) Ostlie. He grew up in Northwood where he attended school and graduated from Northwood High School. In his teenage years, Randy assisted his dad in the carpentry business in the Northwood area. Later he worked at Multi Foods in Crystal, ND and in 1984, began his employment with Motor Coach Industries, Pembina, ND.
In 1991, Randy met the love of his life, Gloria Cook. They were wed September 27, 1997, in Langdon, ND and then resided in Backoo, ND.
Randy loved his children and grandchildren beyond words and enjoyed the time he had with them. His second home was in Devils Lake where he loved fishing and camping with his best of friends and family. He also loved hunting. When his health permitted, he enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Amber (Manuel) Garza and Travis (Sarah) Ostlie, all of Grafton, ND; grandchildren, Isac and Iain Garza and Caden and Alli Ostlie; sister, Vicki Larson and fiancee Dale Schiller Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Bruce (Sandy) Webster, MN; Jerry (Deb) Hettinger, ND; Keith (Tammi) Hatton, ND; Bradley (Diane) Northwood, ND; Jeff (Chris) Grand Forks, ND; eight nieces and 10 nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Gladys and John Tupa and Ingeborg and Henning Ostlie; and several aunts and uncles.
