Niel D. Danielson

Niel D. Danielson, 85, of Leroy, ND passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND.

Niel Duane Danielson was born November 27, 1933 at Vang, ND to Bernard and Bertha (Bjornson) Danielson. He grew up in the Vang area where he attended school. Niel worked for local farmers in the Walhalla area. For several years he worked for the Pembina County Highway Department where he was highway superintendent. Things he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, music, gardening, working on tractors, and spending time with his grandchildren.

On September 22, 1956, he married Evelyn Doyle at Leroy, ND.

He is survived by his children: Valerie Danielson, Cavalier, ND, Connie (Stan) Lustic, Peggy (Gary) White, all of Walhalla, ND, Terry (Julie) Danielson, St. Thomas, ND, Robbie (Shelly) Danielson, Cottonwood, MN, Tammy Danielson (Troy Olson), Walhalla, ND; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; sisters: Sylvia Gaspard and Beth (Merle) Mathison.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Evelyn; daughter, Jeannie Danielson; grandsons, Billy White and Kelly Kalis; siblings: Carl, Chris, Bjorn “Dan”, Pete, Dale, Ray, Emil, Lloyd, Donald, Ethel, and Gloria.
