Nellie Lupien, age 90 formerly of Neche died on Monday, May 29, 2006 at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla, ND.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Sts. Nereus and Achilleus Catholic Church in Neche, ND. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church in Neche. There will be visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. The Nelson-Askew Funeral Home of Walhalla is in charge of arrangements.
Nellie Glenn was born February 16, 1916, at Neche, ND to William and Annie (Antoniw) Glenn. She spent most of her years in Neche, except for a few years living in Youngtown Terrace in Walhalla and recently moving to Cavalier until residing at the Pembilier Nursing Center.
On November 28, 1933, she married Leon Lupien in Neche. Leon died on November 22, 1983.
She worked several years as a cook at Casey's Café in Cavalier and Thompson's Café in Neche until her retirement. Most of her life she was a member of Sts. Nereus and Achilleus Catholic Church. While living in Walhalla was a member of St. Boniface and St. Brigid's of Cavalier.
She is survived by 12 children, Isabel Bekkedahl (fiancee Elwood) Mentor, MN; Leona Mondor (George-deceased) Langdon, ND; Judy Mondor (Lloyd-deceased) Jackson, WI; Shirley Miranda (Al) West Bend, WI; Billy Lupien (Candy) Roswell, NM; Les Lupien (friend Tudy) Neche, ND; Jack Lupien (Ruth) Humboldt, MN; Anita Douville (fiancee Edward) San Bernadino, CA; Mary Lou Urlaub (Leo) Walhalla, ND; Dorothy Snell (Pat) Neche, ND; Larry Lupien (Joanne) Cavalier, ND; Audrey Smith, Wyandotte, MI; 44 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; brother, Elmer Glenn,Conway, AR; two special friends, Nettie Douville and Mildred Fraser; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Nellie was also preceded in death by her parents, three children, six brothers, six sisters, and three sons-in-laws.
Celebrants: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich and Rev. Fr. Jason Lefor
Honorary Pallbearers are all grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Casket Bearers: Greg Bekkedahl, Scott Bekkedahl, Jerod Lupien, Kenny Mondor, Randy Mondor, Allan Symington, Dale Symington, and Jeff Urlaub.
