Melvin A. Goschke

Melvin A. Goschke, 87, of Langdon, ND passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.

Melvin Alan Goschke was born June 12, 1929, near Munich, ND to Reinhold and Minnie (Lembke) Goschke. He grew up in Moscow Township where he attended school. From 1952 to 1954, he served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge from the service he farmed in Moscow Township. On June 10, 1956, he married Vivian Maxwell at Concrete, ND. They lived on the farm until moving to Langdon in 2005.

Melvin was very mechanical and enjoyed fixing everything from tractors to lawn mowers and any small engine. He was a member of the Langdon American Legion Post.

He is survived by his children: Jeff Goschke of Fargo, ND, Greg (Debbie) Goschke of Oslo, MN; son-in-law Lionel McMechan of Malita, Manitoba; and grandchildren: Brendan and Mikayla McMechan & Bailey Goschke. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Vivian on July 27, 2005; daughter Lori McMechan; grandson Jordan McMechan; and siblings Deloris Law and Elmer Goschke.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of service. Burial will be held at the Lebanon Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
