Martha Muth

Martha Muth, 92, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, where she has resided for the past two years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, February 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Martha M. Stegman was born September 7, 1923 at Neche, ND to Edward and Maria (Schmidtke) Stegman. Martha was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Neche, ND.
On January 8, 1942, she married Edward Muth at Neche.
She was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cavalier, its LWML where in earlier years she enjoyed helping with quilting and serving.
Martha worked for 30 plus years in the Cavalier school kitchen and so enjoyed students going thru the food line, she was a Grandma to many. She was also known for her sour cream raisin pies at Thompson's Café. Her hobby was crocheting it kept her hands always busy.
Survivors include her children: Helen (Linden) Johnson, Langdon, ND, Gladys Hillman and Karen (Marvin) Bohn all of Cavalier, Elmer (Vicki) Muth, Surprise, AZ, Ronald (Nita) Muth, Mesa, AZ, Shelley (Patrick) Mack, Jamestown, ND, Kelley (Daryl) Thompson, Cavalier; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Russell Littlejohn, St. Thomas, ND.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Edward on August 19, 2000; daughter, Connie Littlejohn; son-in-law, Greemer Hillman; one great-grandchild; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters.

Martha was a wonderful woman!! I feel very lucky to have gotten to take care of her & get to know her at the nursing home!! She was one of my favorite ladys!! She always had a smile & a kind word. I will miss her!!

So sorry to hear about Martha. She was such a great, friendly lady. Remember her from the CHS lunch room always a smile for everyone. It was so much fun to visit her at the cafe the last years, sure missed her smile and visits when she moved to the Nursing Home. Ron was always buying sour cream raisin pies to take home for later.He said they were the best. Our deepest sympathies to all. Martha's Family, It never mattered where you seen Martha she was always up for a good visit. Her pies were delicious, and she was always a person that loved to shared her talent of baking. Hugs surrounding all of you for comfort, strength and faith that Martha is home with our LORD and SAVIOR. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. GOD bless Martha's memory and GOD bless all of you!
