Marlene M. Trottier

Marlene Marie Trottier, 76, of Hamilton, ND passed away on October 30, 2018 at Parkside Nursing Home, Lisbon, ND with her family surrounding her.

Marlene Marie Connell was born April 29, 1942 in Cavalier, ND, daughter to Dwight and Evelyn (Meagher) Connell. She was raised in Hamilton, ND where she attended Hamilton School and became the spelling bee champ and high school Valedictorian. Marlene moved to Mayville, ND to attend Mayville State College and after graduation she taught school in Carrington, ND.

On December 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Ben Louis Trottier, in Neche, ND. They moved to Portland, OR and on November 9, 1964, their only child, Dynnette Marie, was born.

Marlene and Ben traveled all over the United States enjoying different sites, fishing and making several life long friends. Calling each other their pet name 'Joe', they retired to Lake of the Woods, MN in 1992, then on to Black Duck, MN, then finally settled in Enderlin, ND to be closer to Dee and family.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Ben Trottier, Lisbon, ND; daughter, Dynnette (Dee) (Chuck) Lemna, Sheldon, ND; granddaughters, Keighla (Kris) Halldorson, West Fargo, ND; Glenna (Kevin) Ingeman, Fargo, ND; grandsons, Brayden Huus, Fargo, ND and Craig Vinton, Crookston, MN; step grandchildren, Lemna – Darika, Deserae and Dawson. Her great‑grandchildren; Halldorson – Victoria, AeriLynn, Alexander and Vivian; Huus – Kados; and expecting in December on her marriage anniversary, Ingeman – Evelynn.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marvin (Joann) Connell; grandson Jacob Vinton and nieces Janet Pearson (Connell) and Andrea Pankow (Trottier).

Marlene’s service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00am, visitation will be one hour before her service at Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND, a lunch will served at the funeral home following. Burial will follow at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Bathgate, ND
