I knew Marlene through our work wwith our churches, serving on the NE Lutheran Eastern board. and serving our district as board member and Cluster Representative of church women in Pembina, Cavalier, and Walsh counties. She was very dedicated to her work in the adminstrative duties with boards but also in her service to people. She and I went on the trip to to Central African Republic which we both had our eyes opened to the suffering in Africa.

Marlene & I were roommates in seminary. She had a passion to learn & a heart as big as all outdoors. We kept in touch for many years. I am very saddened for the loss of my friend. My prayers go out to her family.
