Marilyn Kram Borho, 81, of Langdon, ND, passed away March 5, 2026, at Langdon Prairie Health in Langdon, ND.
Marilyn Joyce Kempel was born January 12, 1945, in Langdon, ND, to Jake and Elsie (Walter) Kempel. She grew up and attended school in Wales, ND, graduating in 1962. She furthered her education at Alice’s School of Beauty Culture in Thief River Falls, MN, and received a license in hairdressing. She worked for Young’s Beauty Shop in Langdon and, after moving to Wales, continued to style hair for many ladies either in her home or at their homes. Marilyn and Percy Kram were united in marriage on July 18, 1964, and lived in Wales, where they raised their five children. After her children were all in school, Marilyn worked at Maple Manor as the head of laundry and housekeeping for many years until retiring. Percy passed away in 1998, and Marilyn moved to Langdon in 2005. On March 3, 2011, she married Ray Borho in Wales. They made their home in Langdon.
Marilyn enjoyed crafting of many kinds, especially cross stitching, and was an exceptional seamstress. She liked doing puzzles, reading, and watching the birds come to her bird feeders. Marilyn also loved getting together with family, knowing what her grandkids and great-grandkids were doing, and staying connected with her many cousins.
Marilyn was very active in the Wales community as a former Wales Park Board member, by writing the ‘Wales News’, as a 4H leader, and as the city assessor for many years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Wales and was a member of their altar society and taught religious
Surviving Marilyn are her children: Janelle (Randy) Bata of Langdon, ND, and their children Reily (Stephanie), Raquel (Leo) Colling, & Lexi; Jeff (Jackie) of Fargo, ND, and their children Kylie (Kevin) Libbrecht & Ryan Kram; Jason (Amy) of Rochester, MN, and their children Morgan, Nathan & Addison; Julie Regner of Osnabrock, ND, and her children Tucker, Brady & McKenzie; and Jessica (Brian) Tiegs of Grand Forks, ND, and their children Lilly and Baylee; great-grandchildren: Russell and Calla Bata and Lillian Libbrecht; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Percy and Ray, infant son Kevin, and brother Jim (Kay) Kempel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND, with a Rosary at 12:30 p.m. and visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. Burial in the spring will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Wales, ND.
