Marian McGinn

Marian Genevieve Larson McGinn, the daughter of William and Margaret (Meyer) Gibbons, was born on January 24, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. She was raised and received her education in the Twin Cities area, graduating from high school in St. Louis Park with the Class of 1940. She furthered her education by attending Hamline University. Marian then worked for several years at American Cyanamid Company.
She was united in marriage to Wilbert E. Larson on November 12, 1960 in Minneapolis. The couple later moved to North Dakota, and eventually settled in Pembina, where Marian continued to make her home for many years thereafter. Wilbert passed away in 1985. Marian served her community for many years as Pembina City Treasurer. She had also served as bookkeeper for the Valley Landfill Association. Marian was an active member of the Pembina Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included bridge, golf, knitting, and especially her needlework.
It was while residing in Pembina that Marian met Robert G. McGinn and they were married on January 12, 1988. They remained in Pembina until Robert's passing in 2000, after which Marian moved to St. Paul, MN to be closer to her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters: Arlene (Jim) Nelson of Ramona, CA,
Deborah Simmons of Breezy Point, MN, Kristi (Eric) Heckelman of Rocklin, CA, and Tami Larson of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren: Jody, Heather (Darah), and Erin; her great-grandchildren: Sarah, Daniel, and Greta; other relatives and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Wilbert and Robert; and one brother: Thomas.
