Lyle J. Schneider

Lyle Schneider, 81, of Langdon, ND, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017, at his home in Langdon.

Lyle Joseph Schneider was born at home in Mt. Carmel on February 19, 1936 to Ernie and Rosina (Nowatzki) Schneider. He grew up and attended country school in the Mt. Carmel area. He was united in marriage to Carole Hutchison at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla on September 11, 1959. Lyle entered the US Army and served until being honorably discharged in 1962. He and Carole made their home in Langdon where Lyle worked for C.L. Beiers. He later went in to partnership with Jerry Beiers at Langdon Plumbing & Heating which he eventually purchased in 1978. Lyle retired but continued helping people when needed. He was a farmer at heart and loved being out in the country. He enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and hunting. Lyle was a social person who loved to visit and didn’t like missing his cup of coffee up at the Amoco every morning. He especially looked forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Lyle are his wife, Carole, of Langdon; children: Wanda (Peter) Behling of Grand Forks, ND, Chris of Langdon, Craig (Arlene Davidson) of Grand Forks, Lisa of Minot, ND, and Corey (Nicole Lafferty) of Langdon; grandchildren: Kyle, Cody, Allison, Eric, Samantha (Travis), Brittney (Jamie), Lacey, Shae, and Rachelle (Danny); 14 great-grandchildren; sister Joanne (Wilbur) McGauvran; sisters-in-law Mary Schneider and Rita Schneider; and many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Willeta (Lowell) Peterson, Lester, Clarence, Arnold, and Merlin (Luverne).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Parish Center in Langdon, ND. Visitation will take place from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to service time at the parish center on Friday. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, ND.
