Lois Olson

Lois Olson, 85, of Langdon, ND passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.
Lois was born January 25, 1931 in Langdon, ND to Verner and Edith (Kirby) Olson. She attended country school in the Langdon area and then graduated from Langdon High School. In 1948, she started her education at Mayville Teacher’s College where she received her teaching certificate. Lois taught country school and then taught third grade at Langdon Elementary School until retiring in 1992. She continued to live in Langdon and was currently a resident of Maple Manor Care Center. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Langdon.
Lois was devoted to her family. She took care of her nieces and nephews like they were her own children. She scrapbooked for a few of her great-nieces and nephew and saved every piece of their schoolwork for their scrapbooks. Lois also loved to decorate for holidays. She was a favorite 3rd grade teacher to many, many students that attended Langdon Elementary.
Surviving Lois is her sister, Frances Noland, of Langdon; brother-in-law Edwin Olson; aunt Bertha Olson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: LaVerne (Donny) Lorenz and Sharon Olson; brother Roger (Doris) Olson; niece Rachel Olson; and nephew David Field.
Services for Lois will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held from 3-5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday.

The family has requested that anyone attending the services wear bright colors in celebration of Lois’s life.
