Leo John Holm

Sep 28, 2026 — Sep 28, 2026

Leo John Holm, beloved infant son of Chelsey (Zaharia) and Andrew Holm peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, September 28th, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. He spent an hour in his parents arms surrounded by his grandparents and loved ones, filling our hearts and lives with immeasurable joy and love.

Leo had many people from all over praying for him after his parents learned of genetic abnormalities half way through pregnancy. He miraculously made it through the eighth month of pregnancy and delivery. Leo was born two months before his due date, which was set for days after his parents’ first wedding anniversary in November. He was strong enough to share a smile with his parents after birth. Leo John received his sacraments of the Catholic faith by Fr. Robert Wapenski.

Leo is the greatest blessing and a testament to the sanctity of life, with each kick of pregnancy and second of life remembered and held closely to heart. Leo had been fiercely prayed for and loved forever by his parents and family from the beginning. Faith and comfort are found in knowing Baby Leo is a little saint in Heaven, under the adoring and perfect eyes of the Father and saints. He is our special intercessor and forever in our hearts.

Left to remember and cherish him, Leo John is survived by his loving parents, Chelsey and Andrew of Bathgate, ND; his maternal grandparents, DesaRae and Tom Zaharia of Pembina, ND; his paternal grandparents Dawn and Gary Holm of Hallock, MN; his paternal great-grandmother, Lois Holm of International Falls, MN; his aunts and uncles, Carly (Scott) Christopher of Jackson, MN, Joseph Zaharia (Calle Porter) of Grand Forks, ND, Joshua Zaharia of Pembina, ND, Therese Holm of Seattle, WA, Katherine (Luke) Harnish of Burke, VA, Maria Holm of Burke, VA, Christopher Holm of Hallock, MN, and Genna Holm of Grand Forks, ND; and cousins, expected Baby Christopher of Jackson, MN and Phoebe Harnish of Burke, VA.
