Keith Johnston

Keith Johnston, 69, of Hallock, MN passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. A memorial service will be held Wednesday March 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church, Pembina, ND. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, March 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Keith was born September 30, 1946 at Grafton, ND to John A. and Arleigh (Kiesow) Johnston. He grew up in the Neche, ND area, where he graduated from high school. Keith served in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, CO during the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the service he farmed in the Neche area with his dad. He also was an over the road truck driver and worked for Simplot at Joliette, ND. Things he enjoyed were life at the lake, fishing, and hunting.

He married Sue O’Hara and together they had three children: Lisa, Tara, and Jay. On February 5, 2005, Keith married Roberta Petersburg at Kennedy, MN.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta; children: Lisa Johnston and Tara Zahradka both of Grand Forks, ND, Jay (Jillian) Johnston, Leesberg, GA; stepson: Jeremy (Kristi) Petersburg, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren: Brooklyn; Tyler and Hayley; Kroyden; Avlynn; brothers: Ron (Ruth) Johnston, Arlington, TX and Lynn (Caroline) Johnston, Bismarck, ND. Preceding him in death were his parents.
