Joyce Ridley

Joyce Ridley, 70, of Langdon, ND, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.

Joyce Colleen Amoth was born November 17, 1947, in Langdon, ND, to Chris and Clara (Kjemhus) Amoth. She attended country school at Moscow #1 near Wales through the 5th grade then moved with her family to Langdon. She graduated from Langdon High School in 1965 and started working for the ASCS office in Langdon. After working there for many years, Joyce was employed at Antiques & Collectibles and then PLC Photography, where she worked for about 20 years until her health forced her to retire. Joyce married Gary Ridley in Langdon, ND, on June 17, 1967, and they continued to make their home and raise their family in Langdon.

Joyce loved photography and reading. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up. Joyce was a member of United Lutheran Church in Langdon and participated in Deborah Circle at the church.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Gary, of Langdon; sons: Stephen of Langdon, Shawn (Julie) of Fort Collins, CO, and Aaron (Jennifer) of Savage, MN; grandchildren: Noah, Collin, & Elena; brother Carmen Amoth of Walhalla, ND; brothers-in-law Earl Moen of Nekoma, ND, and Lee Darling of Beloit, WI, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Maureen Amoth, Kenny Amoth, Ruthie Darling, Judy Moen and Gerald Amoth (infant).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at United Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday.
