Joseph B. Restemayer

Joseph Restemayer, 62, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church in Cavalier. Visitation will be held one hour before the time of service at the church.

Joseph B. Restemayer was born on January 16, 1963, the son of Clarence and Ann Restemayer. He grew up in Cavalier, where he attended school and graduated from Cavalier High School, before later making his home in Grand Forks.

Joe was a hard worker who took pride in his work and put his whole heart into everything he did. No matter the job, his employers over the years knew that they were getting the very best Joe had to offer.

Joe had a heart of gold and would help people in any way that he could. If you were lucky enough to call him a friend, then your life was enriched. In his lifetime, Joe was blessed to meet many people who became like family. Joe loved spending quality time with family and friends and had a special love for his dogs. He was blessed to form a close bond with his niece Marion and great-nephew Sebastian who always stepped up for him no matter what he needed.

Joe is survived by his son: Kevin (Kelsey) Restemayer; grandchildren: Addison and Noah; sisters: Elizabeth Dumenchuk and Julie (Lane) Unhjem; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ann Restemayer; brothers: Edmund and Thomas; and brother-in-law, Alexander Dumenchuk.
