John "J.T." Thomasson, Jr. age 33 ,of Roseau, MN died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at his parents home in Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 14, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Andvari Cemetery, rural Cavalier, ND.
John H.E. "J.T." Thomasson, Jr. was born June 28, 1972, in St. Louis, MO to John H.E. "Jack" and Patricia A. (Mazanec) Thomasson. As an infant he moved with his family to Mountain, ND. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1990, and was a member of the ND State Class B Basketball championship team in 1988.
J.T. loved to cook and was well known for his prime rib and barbecued ribs. He cooked for the Cedar Inn, Cavalier, Lakeview Restaurant, Warroad, MN and the Reed River Restaurant, Roseau. Most recently he was employed at Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad.
He is survived by the sunshine of his life, daughter, Ashley Harder, Pine Creek, MN, mother, Patricia Thomasson, Cavalier, ND, sister, Barbara (Bradley) Byron, Minneapolis, MN, brothers, Jeffrey Thomasson, Kennedy, MN and Douglas (Kathy) Thomasson, Middlebro, Manitoba, grandmother, Nancy Thomasson, Cavalier, ND, nieces, Brittany, Trysha, Nicole, Darian, Makenzie, and Kayla, nephews, Brady and Sean, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack, paternal grandfather, Gunnar, and maternal grandparents, William and Dororthy Mazance, and uncle, John Mazanec.
