Joan Thacker

Joan M. Thacker, 86, of Neche, ND passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Burial will be held in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
Joan was born June 18, 1928, at Grafton, ND to John E. and Regina (Rudnik) Gerszewski. She grew up at Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. After graduation she worked at the J.C. Penny's Store in Grafton.
On September 28, 1949, she married Charles Thacker at Grafton. After their marriage they resided in the Neche area where and Joan also ran an upholstery shop. Joan enjoyed painting and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; children: Kathy (Patrick) Bjornstad, Leroy, ND, Charles John (Linda) Thacker, Colorado Springs, CO, Todd (Joanne) Thacker, Neche, ND; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Raymond Gerszewski.
