Janice Christianson

Janice Christianson, 81, of Langdon, ND, and formerly of Hampden, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Osnabrock Community Living Center in Osnabrock, ND.

Janice Odella Thorson was born September 19, 1938, in Langdon, ND, to John and Olga Thorson of Hampden, ND. She worked on the family farm and graduated from Hampden High School in 1956 as the valedictorian. She married the love of her life, Selmer Christianson, on March 15, 1958. They moved to Langdon where she and Selmer raised four children. She was a housewife and loving mother. Janice loved country music, especially listening to Selmer play his fiddle and the Orange Blossom Special. She was his biggest #1 fan. Her friends were also very important to her, especially her life-long friend, Marlene Klein, who was like a sister to her.

Janice is survived by her children: Kathy (Jim) Simrell of Eldorado Springs, MO, Rick (Char) Christianson of Carrington, ND, Dave (Michele) Christianson of Langdon, and Deanna (Jack) Scheidt of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren: DaNae (Kenny), Brandon (Catie), Janna (Cody), Samantha (Justin), Chad, Jennifer (Brian), Bryan, Katie, Karie (Garrett), Amber, Aaron (Deidra), Jason (Celina), and Brittany (Aneish); great-grandchildren: Kolten, Parker, Tevor, Emma, James Ole, Elliana, Maelyn, Canaan, Hunter, Quinn, Kate, Luke, Brayden, Emily, Nora, Roman, and Gavin; goddaughter Michelle Heck; special nieces: LaVonne (Tom) and Linda (Wayne); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Selmer, infant daughter Janene, infant brother Robert, and sisters Harriet and Margaret.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
