      Janet Eileen Watson, 83, of Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Peter’s Cemetery, rural Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Baptist Church, Cavalier, ND. Social distancing and masks are recommended.

     Janet Eileen Werven was born October 26, 1936 at Backoo, ND to Matt and Mae (Martineau) Werven. She grew up in the Backoo area, where she attended school. Jan later moved to the state of Washington and married Dean Quinnett on August 12, 1963 at Burien, WA. They made their home in Washington where Jan ran a day care and was a foster parent. In 1974, they moved to Neche, ND where she continued to be a foster parent until 1977.  While in Neche, she started a Christian Theater Company called Gospel Theatre. After Dean's passing, Jan moved to Cavalier. On May 5, 2001, she married Glenn Watson.

     She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, operating Gramie’s Attic in Cavalier, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     Survivors include her husband, Glenn Watson; children: Dean (Terri) Quinnett, Kent, WA, Doug Johnson, Medora, ND, Terry (Jodi) Johnson, Auburn, WA, Guy Quinnett, Burien, WA, Dee Quinnett and Patty Quinnett both of Cavalier, ND. Her grandchildren: Joey (Russell) and Paul; Eugene and Garrett; Chad (Katrina) and Janna (Justin); great-grandchildren: Julia and Darlyn; Gavin, Sawyer ,Brogan, Garrett Jr and Elaina; Lucas, Evan, Tyler, Eva, Maelle, and Maddy; seven great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Donald Werven, Matt (Janet) Werven, Gordon (Linda) Werven, Evelyn Swift, Luella Latozke, Betty Hanson, and Lorraine Martinson.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dean Quinnett; siblings: Maurice and Lawrence Werven and Mae Dahl.

     In lieu of flowers the family requests donations sent to Diva Dogs Racing to continue Jan's support of her great granddaughter, Eva, and her goal of running the Jr. Iditarod. Jan was one of Eva's biggest supporters and she always wanted to watch Eva achieve her dream.
