James J. Bauley

James J. Bauley age 57 of Cavalier, ND died on Sunday, October 23, 2005, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier School Gym. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the school for one hour before the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Cavalier Sports Boosters or charity of donors choice. Burial in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bremen, ND.
James John Bauley was born March 6, 1948, at Carrington, ND to John and Betty (Stromberg) Bauley. He grew up and attended school at Carrington, graduating in 1966. Jim attended NDSSS in Wahpeton for two years and then Valley City State where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1970.
On September 6, 1969, he married Marsha Lill at Bremen, ND.
From 1970 to 1977 he taught in McHenry, ND, from 1977 to present he taught school in Cavalier. While in McHenry and Cavalier, Jim was a basketball coach and athletic director at both schools. He also was the golf coach at Cavalier. Highlights of his coaching were the Cavalier basketball teams trip to the state tournament in 1990, finishing third, and the Cavalier golf teams state play in 2001. He ended his varsity basketball coaching career with 456 wins.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Kip (Alicia) Bauley, Williston, ND, Kyle (Ashley Aune) Bauley, Mayville, ND, Kylene Bauley, Williston, ND, and Kendra Bauley, at home in Cavalier, mother, Betty Bauley, Oakes, ND and brother, Craig (Michelle) Bauley, Tucson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, brother, Kim Bauley, and sister, Brenda Bauley.
