Herman T. Goodoien

Herman T. Goodoien, 87, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the Park Center Cemetery, Hoople, ND.
Herman was born July 12, 1928 at Devils Lake, ND to Peter and Mina (Bakken) Goodoien. He grew up in the Hoople area where he attended school. Herman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the service, he worked for area farmers and in building construction. In 1965, he started I&H Auto near Cavalier with his brother, Ivan. In his pastime, Herman enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his brother, Ivan Goodoien, Cavalier, ND and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Phyllis Reilly; brothers: Tony, Parnell, and John Goodoien.
