Harvey Enerson, 92, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Hamilton, ND, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society, Lakota, ND. Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the Askew Funeral Home. Burial service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Cemetery.
Harvey E. Enerson was born September 30, 1933, at Grafton, ND to Emil and Grace (Nelson) Enerson. He attended school in Hamilton, where he graduated from high school. In June of 1953, he joined the Hamilton Presbyterian Church. Harvey enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving in Long Beach, CA, Misawa, Japan, and Tacoma WA, where he was discharged in June of 1957. In November of 1957, he was accepted on the Tacoma Police Department, where he attended the Police Academy. Harvey then worked in the patrol division and traffic division as a motorcycle office and vice squad officer. In 1969, he was granted leave because of an injury and retired in 1971.
He then moved to North Bend, OR, where he owned and operated a small institutional food business and an A&W Restaurant. Harvey moved back to North Dakota in 1977, and worked with his brother, Bud.
On January 21, 1977, he married Rhoda Lee Barbieur in Reno, NV. Rhoda passed away March 29, 2026. Also preceding him in death were his granddaughter, Sonya Barbieur, brothers: Clarence “Bud”, Andy, Ernest “Neil”, and sisters: Emily, Helen, and Ida.
Survivors include his children: Harold (Sue) Enerson, Michael (Alisa) Barbieur, Teresa “Terri” (Darrell) Perry, grandchildren: Brennan Barbieur, Tori Lee, Kyle Perry, Joshua (Missy) Enerson, Jessie (Jim) Swinney, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
