Garnet M. Storey, 62 of Grand Forks and formerly of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 surrounded by his loved family at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Garnet Murray Storey was born October 16, 1956 in Cavalier, ND to Hilliard and Cecelia (Campeau) Storey. He graduated from Valley High School in Hoople, ND in 1975.
After graduation, Garnet worked for area farmers and in 1996 started working for the Cavalier Public School as a head custodian and transportation supervisor. In 2009, he and his family moved to Grand Forks, ND, where he worked for KBS, and then started his own cleaning service until his death.
He enjoyed music, golf, and keeping his vehicles in pristeen shape. He also enjoyed getting together with his family especially at Christmas. Garnet was also an excellent cook and his cooking was enjoyed by many.
On November 9, 1988 he married Linda Jerome at Cavalier, ND. He is survived by his wife Linda of 30 years; sons: Jeremy (Miriah Dudgeon) and Evan (Sarah), daughter, Klarissa; two grandchildren; siblings: Carol (Ken) Ault, Cavalier, ND; Marilyn (Kevin) Shephard, Langdon, ND; brother-in-law, Jack Carignan, Cavalier, ND; nieces: Julie (Kirk) Morrison, Neche, ND, Katherine (Josh) Briese, Hamilton, ND, Megan Shephard (Joe Schneider), Langdon, ND; nephews: Jamie Ault, Kevin (Laura) Ault, all of Cavalier, ND, Ryan (Erin) Ault, Post Falls, ID, Jason (Stacey) Brown, Park River, ND, and Michael Shephard, Maple Grove, MN, and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, and sister, Theresa Carignan.
