Francis "Dick" Lafferty

Francis E. "Dick" Lafferty, Sr., 72, of Walhalla, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Altru Hosptial, Grand Forks, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla. Visitation will be held Friday, January 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church.

Francis E. "Dick" Lafferty, Sr. was born October 19, 1945 at Walhalla, ND to William and Florence (Goulet) Lafferty. He grew up in Walhalla where he attended school. Dick worked for area farmers and for Johnson Farms for 30 plus years.
Things he enjoyed were deer and gopher hunting, fishing, watching his old time western movies, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cruising the sandhills with his wife Phyllis.

On April 22, 1967, he married Phyllis Goulet at Cavalier, ND. She survives as do his children: Francis Jr. (Sabrina) Lafferty, Smithfield, PA, Jody (Craig) Carrier, Brenda (Mike) Bourbanis, Chad (Jessica) Lafferty, all of Walhalla, ND, Jeramy (Kristyn) Lafferty, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Tyler Lafferty, Bo Carrier, Kayla Demontigny, Cole Carrier, Tyson Lafferty, Thea Bourbanis, Brendyn Lafferty, Ciara Lafferty, Savannah Soli, C.J. Lafferty, Connor Lafferty, Brody Lafferty; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Lafferty.

Preceding him in death were his parents; great-grandson, Allan; brothers: Laverne, Larry, Wayne, Aldrin; sisters: Irene Oulette, Joyce Fields, Patsy Cook.
