Francis "Frank" J. Quinn

Francis "Frank" James Quinn of Cavalier, North Dakota, beloved father, grandfather, and Vietnam veteran, passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 75.

Frank was born on October 6, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to James and Marian (Greenwood) Quinn. He attended Cavalier High School and studied architectural drafting at North Dakota State College of Science.

In 1968, Frank joined the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970 in Company C, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, and rose to the rank of Sergeant. For his service, he received the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He remained a proud veteran all his life.

After his honorable discharge, Frank used his eye for design to build a lifelong career as a general contractor. He constructed fine custom homes and estates throughout California's Bay Area.

Frank loved a round of golf, a night at the bowling alley, and a good game of pool. Some of his happiest moments were watching cartoons with his children and grandchildren over popcorn and licorice, and cooking up his favorite dinner of steak, potatoes, and corn.

Frank is survived by his sister, Kathy Amato; his children, Melissa Quinn, Zachary Quinn, and Laura Lind; his grandchildren, Isabella Jeffs, Jack Lind, Alice Quinn, and Josephine Sjoen; his great-grandchildren, Freya and Rhys Jeffs; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marian Quinn.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Cinema, Cavalier, North Dakota. Afterward, please stay for fellowship and some of Frank's favorite theater snacks. Family and friends are then invited to gather at Crystal Memorial Cemetery for the inurnment.
