Frances J. Winzer

Frances J. Winzer, 94, formerly of Cavalier, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, her daughters home in Fargo, ND. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at Askew Funeral Home.

Frances J. Werner was born May 18, 1931, in Cavalier, ND to Rudolph and Emily (Schroeder) Werner. She grew up and attended school in Cavalier. Frances worked several years for Tom Butler and for the past several years, she has lived in Fargo with her daughter.

She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Frances was also a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Cavalier.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Koski, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Michelle Gardner, Nicole Knopik, Char Simon, Gina Nelson, Dana Nelson and Jason Nelson; great-grandchildren: Hope and John Simon, Tanner Freed, Taylor Gardner and Mason Gardner, Mylee Knopik, Lukus Nelson and Gavyn Nelson and her siblings: Verna Schluchter and Don Werner.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Henry, son Larry and sister Alice Gudmundson.
