Evelyn J. Rike

Evelyn June Rike, 84 of Crystal ND passed away April 18, 2022 at First Care Health Center in Park River. 

Evelyn was born August 21, 1937 in Grafton ND to Theodore and Alma (Lundgren) Rike, raised on the home farm between Edinburg and Union. She attended the country school, Gardar school and graduated from Edinburg High School in 1955. After high school she met Ron Jardine and after marrying in 1958 they moved to California. Her daughter Shelly was born in 1959 and they resided in California until Evelyn and Shelly moved back to North Dakota in 1973. Evelyn had various jobs including owning a local bar, cooking at the Good Sam, cooking at RJ’s Café followed by retiring from her working days at the Crystal post office. Her biggest passions were cooking, making lefse and her grandkids.  

Evelyn is survived by her daughter Shelly Hunter (Lyle); Granddaughters: Whitney Salwei, Abigail Romfo (Preston); Great Granddaughters: Kenley Salwei-Larson, Blaire Romfo; Siblings: Larry Rike (Alva), Robert Rike (Audrey), Thelma Kurtz (Don), Ardis Meharg (Ben) 

Preceding her death were her Parents; Siblings Jerome, Vernon, Eleanor and Elaine 

Evelyns wishes were to have a private family burial
