Esther's family: I only met her a couple of times, but it was easy to see why she was so dearly loved. She was a person you just wanted to be around. My father (Gerald Gilbertson) and his sister (Verna Hilde) spoke so highly of her. She had a long, productive life and she was a blessing to so many people. Even though a death is not a surprise, it is still always a shock. She may have been the last of the cousins from that generation. With sincere sympathy, Rachel (Gilbertson) Monson,

To All of Esther's Family, Esther was an amazing lady-a lady whose smile was true and who love for music lit up a room. Mom (JoAnn Hardy) and Esther shared a lot of wonderful visits, filled with laughter, some tears and so many stories. I can't imagine that Heaven's piano will be quiet very long-her love for playing will fill Heaven with songs of plenty. God bless all you as you mourn the loss of this amazing lady. May the memories give you all comfort, and may those that surround you provide love and healing. Don & Michelle Murray

My cousin, Ann Baarstad Christman sent me this link. Esther was one of my father, Dr. David Baarstads favorite cousins. They grew up together in Nome and stayed in touch throughout their lives right up to Dads passing in November 2017 in Ventura CA. Just prior to his death he mentioned his belief that he and Esther were the last of their generation of Baarstads. She was dear to him and I wanted to pass that along to her family along with my best wishes. Jeff Baarstad, Ventura CA
