Ernest C. Olson

Ernest C. Olson age 83 of Cavalier, ND, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the St. Brigid Building Fund or the charity of donors choice. Burial in the St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Ernest Carl Olson was born November 17, 1921, at Milton, ND to Carl and Emily (McKay) Olson. He grew up in the Concrete area and graduated from Cavalier High School. During World War II he served in the China-Burma-India Theatre with the U.S. Army Signal Corp. After his discharge from the service he returned to the Concrete area.
On November 7, 1946, he married Bernice O'Keeffe at Walhalla, ND. They lived at Concrete from 1950 to 1955, then moved to Cavalier. Ernie worked for Nodak Rural Electric until his retirement in 1986.
He was a life member of the Cavalier Fire Department and the Cavalier American Legion.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Bernice, children, Marilyn (Roger) Olafson, Edinburg, ND, Karen (Sam) Givand, Cavalier, ND, Kevin (ViAnn) Olson, Grand Forks, ND, and Greg (Belinda) Olson, Hallock, MN, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers, Howard (Anna Lee) Olson and Ken Olson all of Cavalier.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jerrod Ault
