Emily Jean Lorenz

Emily Lorenz, 93, of Fargo, ND, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, in Fargo, ND.

Emily Jean Amaral was born August 12, 1925 to Manual and Laura (Gandoza) Amaral in Mountain View, CA. She attended school and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area in California. Emily met Jim Lorenz at a military ball, and they were married on May 11, 1957, with a full military wedding. They started their life together stationed in Hawaii. After Jim’s military career was complete, they moved to his hometown of Langdon, ND, until moving to Fargo, ND, where they raised their family. Emily enjoyed sewing, needle point, volunteering, and playing bingo. Her favorite thing was exchanging birthday cards. She had a great memory for dates. She also enjoyed spending time in worship and was a long-time member of St. Anthony’s in Fargo.

Surviving Emily are her children: Gary (Wanda) Lorenz of Valley City, ND, and Karen (John) Roscoe of Sparks, NV; grandchildren: Leah, Ryder, Lucas, and Alexis; and great-grandchild Zoey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim; sister Hellen; and brothers: Manual, Alfred, and Arthur.

A private family service was held in Langdon.
