Elmer Dearinger, 83, of Walhalla, ND, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla. Visitation will be held Monday, March 27th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the church.
Elmer was born August 20, 1933, in Walhalla to Oscar and Carolina (Thomasson) Dearinger. On May 7, 1955, he married Susie Jerome in Cavalier, ND. They had four beautiful daughters, seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
During his many years of employment, he mainly worked as a construction worker, but also worked for various farmers around the area. Elmer enjoyed hunting, target practice, and reloading shells. He also enjoyed mechanical work, spending time with family, all dogs, spoiling Jim and Jenelle Brown's children, playing cards, and of course getting his daily jokes in.
Survivors include his wife, Susie; daughters: Donna (George) Brandt, Debbie (Butch) Lee, Sue Dearinger (Roger Goulet), and Kay (Terry) Meidinger; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Eileen Ducioame, Dorothy Denault, Ida (Wally) Melstad, Bobby (Linda) Dearinger, Leona (Ron) Fuller, Gary (Patty) Dearinger, and Margie (Billy) LeTexier; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; sister, Ruby Johnson; and brother, Alvin Dearinger.
