Einar O. Abrahamson

Einar O. Abrahamson, 87, of Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at his home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 9. 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Memorials are preferred to the Icelandic State Park.

Einar Olafur Abrahamson was born November 27, 1933 in Akra Township to Einar and Helga (Gudmundson) Abrahamson. He grew up in the Akra area where he attended grade school and later graduated from Cavalier High School. Einar then served in the U.S. Army and was very proud of playing football for them. After his discharge from the service, he attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis for architectural drafting. He returned to the area and started Abrahamson Brothers Construction with his brothers Edmund and Finn.
He enjoyed woodworking, driving around, telling stories, and was know as a practical joker.
On June 10, 1961, he married Lori Lerbs at Hallock, MN, they were blessed with four children.
He is survived by his children: Allison (Kerry) Fretheim, Harwood, ND, Einar Abrahamson, Burlington, ND, Matt (Allison) Abrahamson, Grand Forks, ND, Amy (Todd) Skjoldal, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren: Katie (Johan) Basson and son, Sam, Forrest (Alyssa) Fretheim and children, Stella and Odin, Wyatt Fretheim, and Seth Fretheim; Tiffany Abrahamson and Matthew Abrahamson; Haakon Skjoldal and Finn Skjoldal. Also surviving are his sisters: Agnes Hagstrom, Arlene (Danny) Holen, Aldis (Wayne) Pearson; sisters-in-law Karen Abrahamson and Sally Abrahamson.
Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings: Jon Albert, Edmund, and Finn Abrahamson and Alice Westra.
