Edward Thom

Edward Thom age 91 of Cavalier, ND and formerly of Neche, ND died on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, Neche, ND. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Neche Union Cemetery, Neche, ND.
Edward Thom was born July 4, 1914, at Neche, ND to Henry and Juliana (Hamel) Thom. He grew up and attended school in the Neche area, where he farmed until his retirement.
On April 24, 1940, he married Donna Gainer at Christ Lutheran Church, Neche, ND. She died on January 25, 1994. He then married Edythe Otto on October 30, 1998, at Christ Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edythe, children, Judy (David) Coats, Perry, MI; Wayne (Garlinda) Thom, Hawkinsville, GA; Randy (Shirley) Thom and Bruce (Donna) Thom all of Neche, ND; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and other extended family.
Ed was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Marty and Neil Thom, daughter-in-law, Fran Thom, six brothers, and seven sisters.
