Dorothy M. Stamm

Dorothy M. Stamm, age 98, of Cavalier, ND passed away August 28, 2025 at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier. Dorothy was born November 12, 1926 in Fargo, ND to Helga (Sorenson) and Oliver Langei. 

Dorothy attended school in Plummer, MN and was united in marriage to Gordon Stamm October 7, 1945 in Plummer. They lived in Grand Forks, ND until moving to Cavalier when Gordon bought Heating & Electric in 1952.

Dorothy was a member of the United Lutheran Church where she was active with the quilting guild and teaching Sunday School. Dorothy was always there for her children. Dorothy worked as a CNA at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital for many years. She also enjoyed spending time as a 4-H leader.

Her love of sewing kept her busy from morning to night. Dorothy sewed many quilts over the years for her family and the church. She was well known for the beautiful Barbie doll clothes that she designed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Helga Langei and her husband, Gordon who died in 1984; sister Ruth Thompson and brother Donald Langei.

Memories will be carried on by her daughters Carol Dietrich, Cavalier; Barbara (Mark) Gregory, Cavalier and son Richard (Carole) Stamm, Bluffton, SC. Grandchildren Penny Dietrich, Fargo,ND; Gordon (Jeni) Bentz, Billings, MT and Robert (Tina) Bentz, Moorhead, MN and 6 great-grandchildren, Tatianna, Hailey, Bo, Brooke, Blake, Ivy and many nieces and nephews.

A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be directed to the charity of choice.
