Delma Hartz

Delma Hartz, 92, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Cavalier Ambulance Service.

Delma was born December 24, 1933, on the family farm to Malcome and Laura (Kihne) Hildebrant. She grew up in the Cavalier area. She attended country school and graduated from Cavalier High School. On November 15, 1953, Delma married Lloyd Hartz in Cavalier. After their marriage they lived and farmed near Cavalier. Delma enjoyed cooking, baking, and ceramics. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the women’s groups.

She is survived by her children: Rodger (Cheryl) Hartz, Valerie (Bob) McFadden, Keith (LeRae) Hartz, all of Cavalier, ND; grandchildren: Michael Hartz, Kayla Thorpe, Justin McFadden, Todd McFadden, Adam McFadden, Alex Hartz, Julia Smith, Clarissa Stout; great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Jamison, Breckon, Josiah, Nolan, Drew, Roman, Shay, Olivia, Emma, Liam, Knox, Nash, Emmett, and Leo; sisters: Ruth Ann Thom and Jane Falk; and sister-in-law, Judy Hildebrant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy; brother, Robert Hildebrant; and brothers-in-law: Dennis Thom and Ron Falk.
