Dean Ross Burnham

Dean R. Burnham, 85, of Langdon, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Dean Ross Burnham was born May 11, 1933, in Spencer, SD, to Vere and Gladys (Hall) Burnham. He grew up in South Dakota and served in the US Army before being honorably discharged. Dean and Jean Ann Synhorst were married in April of 1956 in South Dakota where they lived for a short time before moving to Langdon, ND. Dean worked as a lineman for United Telephone, retiring in 1996. He also enjoyed setting up equipment for Langdon Implement, but his biggest joy was working on the farm and custom swathing. He was a member of Langdon Eagles Aerie #3454, American Legion, and was a volunteer fireman for the Langdon Fire Department for many years.

Dean is survived by his children: Pam (Dale) Luhmann of Langdon, Curtis (Eva) Burnham of Langdon, Craig Burnham of Harlem, MT, Michael (Vicki) Burnham of Minot, ND, and Kim Burnham (Greg Krzoska) of Langdon; grandchildren: Clint (Sarah) Luhmann, Jenny Luhmann, Jessica (Justin) Wohlrabe, Amy (Kris) Lillemo, Scott Burnham, Alex Burnham, Tori Burnham, Kaleb Burnham, and Ian Burnham; great-grandchildren: Hunter Luhmann, Greta Wohlrabe, Oliver Wohlrabe, and Ellie Lillemo; and brothers: Bill (Clione) Burnham, Dick (Karen) Burnham, and Gary (Barb) Burnham. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean Ann; son Scott Burnham; and siblings: Byron Burnham, Phyllis Hostetler, and twin brother Jean Burnham.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be one hour before the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
