David S. Dinkel

David S. Dinkel, 89, of Crystal, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Memorial service will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home for one hour before the time of services.

David Stanford Dinkel was born November 3, 1929 at Hoople, ND to Frank L. and Helga (Sveen) Dinkel. He moved to the Crystal area with his family where he attended school.

On December 6, 1968, David married Carol Ganyo at Grafton, ND. He farmed in the Crystal area until his retirement. David then went to work at Friendship in Grafton, where he worked for several years. Things he enjoyed were reading, gardening, and visiting with friends. He was active in the St. John Lutheran Church at Crystal.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Nathan Dinkel, Crystal, ND; brother, Donald (Mary) Dinkel, Grand Forks, ND; special family friend, Steven Turner; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Gordon, Ralph, Stanley, and Frank; sisters: Dolly Hunter and Joy Hartje; and two siblings in infancy.

Visitation at the funeral home for one hour before the time of services.
