Darlene J. Woldseth

May 16, 1936 — May 3, 2015

Darlene Woldseth, 78, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on May 3, 2015. She was born in Langdon. ND on May 16, 1936 to Walter and Helen (Paulson) Hart and grew up with two younger sisters, Bev (Sturlaugson) and Jan (Prondzinski), on their family’s farm in Wales, ND. She attended school at the Moscow Township rural elementary school and graduated from Langdon High School in 1954. After high school she went to Concordia College Moorhead where she met and fell in love with Harold Woldseth of Edmore, ND. They were married on October 1, 1955 and were blessed with three daughters: Diane (Wagner), Julie (Stolle) and Jill (Schwaner). Harold and Darlene farmed near Edmore until 1984 and shortly after that she began a career as a federal and commercial crop adjuster, a position she maintained until 2002.

Darlene knew Jesus from an early age and trusted Him throughout her life. Her faith was alive when she lost her mother at 13 years old, and it sustained her when she learned that she had Alzheimer’s Disease. In between those times, she prayed faithfully and fervently for her family and friends. She loved Harold. She nurtured, healed and sustained him as they made their life together. She loved her daughters, and they were wonderfully blessed by her guidance and encouragement throughout their lives and beyond. She was a mentor, teacher, seamstress, cheerleader, guidance counselor and later friend to her girls. She was so encouraging and supportive of them and was thrilled with her daughters’ husbands and loved them like sons. She was also a much-loved Grandma to her 7 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. Each could write volumes of moments, days, and years that were blessed and enriched by the wisdom of their Mom and Grandma.

Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (Paulson) Hart, her father, Walter Hart, Alvina Holo who cared for Walter’s girls and became a much loved member of the family, and her step-mother, Ethel (Welsh) Hart. She is survived by her husband, Harold Woldseth of Edmore, ND & Mesa, AZ; their daughters: Diane (Doug) Wagner of Des Lacs, ND, Julie (Darrell) Stolle of Fargo, ND and Jill (Brad) Schwaner of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren: Lindsey (Brian) Marquart and great-grandson Ruben, Landon Wagner, Andrew (Nicole) Stolle, Britta Stolle and great-grandson Bridger Stolle-Marks, Clay Schwaner, Jansen Schwaner and Darby Schwaner; and her sisters: Beverly (Richard) Sturlaugson of Pelican Rapids, MN & Peoria, AZ, and Jan (Jim) Prondzinski of Pelican Rapids, MN & Peoria, AZ.
