Catherine Ann Olson, 75, of Langdon, ND, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Lagndon. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services. 

 Cathy was born on October, 15, 1950, in Harvey, ND, to David and Pearl Uhlich. She grew up in Drake, ND on the farm with a strong sense of family, hard work and dedication-qualities that would guide her throughout her life. 

 Cathy and Adrian were united in marriage on November 15, 1975. Together they built their life in Langdon, ND where they raised their two daughters creating a home filled with love and lasting memories. They would make their home in Langdon, ND with their two daughters.

 Cathy graduated from high school in 1968, she would go on to continue her education after  at Minot State University graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology.  Ultimately this is what brought her to Langdon where she and Adrian met. She built a meaningful career in her profession where her experience, knowledge and attention to detail, along with her commitment to helping others made a lasting impact on her coworkers and patients in the community. She built many long lasting friendships while working at the hospital that remained close to her heart.

 Outside of her work, Cathy found joy in creative pursuits of cake decorating, sewing and quilting. When she retired from her cake decorating days, she focused on her quilting. She and Adrian would quilt together and often donate her creations to charitable organizations and making them as wedding gifts for family and friends.  Above all Cathy was a dedicated grandma to Ryker, Clyde and Aveline. They were the joy of her life.

 Cathy gave generously of her time as a dedicated volunteer member and chairperson for Relay for Life for a number of years. Her leadership and commitment made a meaningful impact on her community.

 Cathy, Adrian, and the girls especially enjoyed their summer vacations to Montana where they would spend time on the farm with her family. The yearly road trips out to Montana would also include regular stays in Tioga, ND with family-moments that brought her great happiness and connection.

 Cathy treasured her family above all. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Elska’ (Adam) Spanier of Fargo and Runa (Mark) Anderson of Langdon. Her grandchildren Ryker Spanier, Clyde Anderson and Aveline Anderson; siblings Sharon Westre, Pat Smith and sister-in-law Roxanna Uhlich; her brothers-in-law, Duane (Marlene) Thorsteinson, Magnus (Gerry) Thorsteinson and Edwin Olson, sister-in-law Kathy (Dave) Iverson, and her many nieces and nephews.

 Cathy will be remembered for her kindness and quiet strength she carried throughout her life.  She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through her daughters and grandchildren.

 Cathy is preceeded in death by her husband Adrian Olson, parents David and Pearl Uhlich, brother Dave Uhlich, brother-in-law Glenn Westre, and sister-in-law Sharon Olson.
