Carl D. Sott

Carl Douglas Sott, 65, of Hensel, ND, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held one hour before the time of services. Following the service a time of fellowship and refreshments will be served at the Cavalier Assembly of God Church.
Carl was born June 23, 1951, to Emil and Rose (Robinson) Sott at Drayton, ND. He grew up and attended school in Hensel, and graduated from Cavalier High School. After school, he worked for Gregory Ford, Thorlakson Construction, Lawonn Farms, and Northern Improvement.
Carl was a handyman, and enjoyed gardening and canning. He was also a lifetime member of the Dakota Jammers Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his siblings: Leroy Sott, Winthrop, ME; Ted (Sandy) Sott, Fargo, ND; Ervin (Kaye) Sott, Cavalier, ND; Cindy Parsons, Benita Polen, Allen Sott, all of Hensel, ND and friend Sandy Boschee; nieces and nephews: Devon, Niccole, T.J.; Shawn and Ryan; Troy, Michael, Katie, Eddie; Travis, Misty, and Myles; eight great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
