Candace L. Thomas

Candace Lee Thomas, 46, of Walhalla, ND passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church in Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services.

Candace Lee Hellman was born August 7, 1978, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Gary and Donna (Hummel) Hellman. She grew up in Brownsville, SD and graduated from Walhalla High School. Candace then attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for two years. She worked at Motor Coach Industries, Kids Townhouse, and in 2011, she started working as a Paraprofessional at Walhalla School. Her number one focus in her life was her sons, she also enjoyed painting and being at school with all the students.

On August 5, 2000, she married James Thomas at Walhalla Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, James, sons: Zach Thomas, Walhalla, ND, Tyler Thomas and Kyle Thomas both of Grand Forks, ND.

Preceding her in death were her parents Gary and Donna.
